Wescom Resources Group “Goes Live” at First Coast Community CU with Service Bureau and Multiple Software Solutions

Wescom Resources Group (WRG), a leading provider of costeffective and comprehensive technology solutions to credit unions, announced today that First Coast Community Credit Union ($54 million, 8,694 members) has become its latest service bureau client. In addition to utilizing the Episys™ platform from Symitar on the service bureau platform, First Coast Community will be implementing a myriad of WRG software solutions. As a result, First Coast Community Credit Union, located in Palatka, Fla., will now be more competitive in the current market, making the credit union more
attractive to members as their primary financial institution. WRG's technology has also allowed members of the First Coast Community to save costs, enabling them to pass on the savings to members via better rates and to implement new technology services.

Along with migrating to Wescom Resources Group's Service Bureau, First Coast Community Credit Union will implement the following solutions,

  • Automated Lending Solution
  • Skip-A-Pay
  • Membership Application (online)

"We've experienced a 180-degree change technology-wise," says Chris Leggett, president and CEO of First Coast Community Credit Union. "Prior to our conversion, we were on an antiquated system that limited thetypes of products we could implement. We felt we needed significant improvement in the technology area to stay ‘on par' with other financial institutions. Wescom Resources Group, integrated with Symitar's Episys™ system, has allowed us to accomplish this goal."

In addition to benefiting from the add-on technology solutions, First Coast Community Credit Union will also be leveraging WRG's hosting capabilities by transferring all its technology services to the credit union technology provider. As a service bureau client, First Coast Community Credit Union has decreased its reliance on a single in-house IT person, who was often required to work 12-14 hours per day just to manage the system.

"IT is not a core competency for us," Leggett admits. "We have limited resources within our credit union to manage an in-house system. So we looked to outsource this task and came across Wescom Resources Group. Their service bureau solution was the best choice for us because not only were our requirements satisfied, but we truly feel they understand the unique needs of credit unions, which to us is a huge benefit."

With most of the new technology services already in production, First Coast Community Credit Union expects to experience increased growth in membership next year. Having its system hosted remotely through WRG's Service Bureau solution has also freed up other staffing resources to enhance member services.

First Coast Community Credit Union will now join 6 other WRG Service Bureau clients which include Transportation Northwest Credit Union ($26 million, 2,786 members), Vision One Credit Union ($26 million, 2,391 members), Generations Credit Union ($30 million, 4,785 members), WCLA Credit Union ($9 million, 1,309 members), Santa Ana Federal Credit Union ($74 million, 9,223 members), and Olympia Credit Union ($26 million, 3,303 members).
