Baxter Credit Union has selected Wescom Resources Group’s (WRG) CU Integrator development interface to streamline its technology integration. CU Integrator will facilitate the transfer of information between the Symitar host system and Baxter’s custom Internet banking solution. The improved interface will allow Vernon Hills, Ill.-based Baxter ($969 million in assets, 117,962 members) to easily enhance its self-service products.
In addition to using Internet banking, the credit union will use CU Integrator as “middleware” to communicate with other installed user interfaces, such as its home equity document retrieval system, repair coverage application, telephone system “screen pop” and ATM locator for members.
“CU Integrator is a key component to enhancing our application communications in and out of Symitar via SymConnect,” said Jeff Johnson, vice president of MIS for Baxter. “It falls in line with our overall strategy of doing a better job of integrating applications internally with third party vendors.”
SymConnectTM is Symitar’s application programming interface.
According to Johnson, one of the credit union’s goals with CU Integrator is to push a greater amount of account information to its members through self-service channels such as the Internet, ATMs, and kiosks. The pushed data will include everything from simple inquiries or loan applications to adding shares or ordering insurance.
“Accomplishing this goal should be significantly easier with the use of CU Integrator,” Johnson added. “Anything members can do by calling or visiting a branch, we want to provide via the Internet. And we feel that WRG’s CU Integrator can help us greatly in this area.”
