Wescom Credit Union has appointed John Best to the newly created position of Vice President, Chief Technology Officer. In his new role, Best will lead all product planning and development for Wescom Resources Group (WRG), Wescom’s technology CUSO, and manage the implementation team. He joins Wescom’s executive team and will report to WRG President Kevin Sarber.

Since joining WRG more than three years ago, Best has been instrumental in helping grow the technology provider. WRG now serves nearly 100 industry clients with a range of solutions that include Bill Pay, Internet banking, disaster recovery services and Symitar core hosting. In addition, he has effectively managed the WRG implementation teams, orchestrated key enhancement of the products, and has improved team processes and service levels.

Best also took an active role in the development and design of eBranch, Wescom’s Internet banking platform, and worked on moving the Credit Union’s Bill Pay system in-house. More recently, he managed the design and implementation of Wescom’s Multi-Factor Authentication feature on eBranch.

“For the last three years, John has been a tremendous asset to both Wescom Credit Union and WRG,” said Kevin Sarber, president of WRG. “I can’t think of a better qualified person than John to lead our product development and implementation teams in this exciting next phase for WRG. I’m thrilled to have him aboard as our CTO.”

Best, who is well-known for his passionate focus on serving WRG clients, attributes his success to the outstanding talent and dedication of the team members that he works with. He will continue to be based in WRG's Tampa, Fla. office.
